Requirements

  • Active California Bar license in good standing
  • Strong legal research, writing, and practical litigation skills
  • Highly organized and deadline-driven
  • Professional client communication and sound legal judgment
  • Comfortable managing a busy caseload
  • Proficient with modern legal technology (case management systems, e-filing, and AI-assisted research tools)

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and settlement documents
  • Manage litigation strategy, discovery, deadlines, and negotiations
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and courts
  • Appear for hearings as required (virtual whenever possible; in-person only when necessary)
  • Handle matters with increasing autonomy and responsibility as you grow

Benefits

  • Base Salary: $125,000–$200,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Quarterly Bonus Program: Performance-based; increases with tenure. Target bonuses typically range from approximately 5%–15% of base salary depending on individual performance and length of service.
  • 401(k): Employer-sponsored 401(k) plan with a company match (up to 4% of eligible compensation; e.g., dollar-for-dollar on the first 3% and 50% on the next 2% as an illustrative example). Company contributions vest after two years. Employees may enroll upon hire.
  • Health insurance: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision options. Multiple medical plan types are offered (e.g., HMO and PPO), including a high-deductible plan option with HSA eligibility. The firm subsidizes a significant portion of employee-only premiums (typical employer contribution covers a substantial percentage of employee-only premiums); dependent coverage is available at cost to the employee. Firm offers HSA/FSA pre-tax options and an annual HSA seed contribution for employees enrolled in high-deductible plans.
  • Paid time off (PTO): PTO accrual begins at 15 days (120 hours) in year one, increasing with tenure (for example, moving to 20 days after three years). In addition, employees receive paid sick leave and paid holidays.
  • Parental leave and short-term disability are available consistent with firm policy.
