About The Position

We are looking for an excellent candidate to join our team as an experienced Associate Attorney. A law school degree and Virginia Bar membership are required; Maryland or D.C. Bar membership is a plus. This position is specifically designed for those who have been practicing personal injury law for more than 3 years in Virginia. The ideal candidate will have excellent research and writing skills, ability to multi-task and handle deadlines without constant supervision, and be possessed of good interpersonal skills. Job duties will include all aspects of case management, including client intake, case investigation and preparation, case evaluation, drafting pleadings, discovery and deposition work, motions practice, and handling trials. A strong desire to advocate on behalf of our clients is a must. This is a full time position, that could occasionally entail weekend and evening work. Additionally, this position will involve mentoring and guiding less-experienced associates through various aspects of personal injury work, including case evaluation, negotiations, and litigation. Requirements

  • Virginia Bar admission required - other Bar admissions (DC and MD) helpful!
  • Have at least two years of personal injury experience.
  • Familiarity with civil procedure
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Actively review cases in pre-litigation, ensuring that medical records are being received and investigations are complete
  • Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, other staff members, etc.
  • Evaluate cases, including determining potential for resolution and need for litigation
  • Represent clients in circuit and general district court proceedings
  • Draft pleadings, discovery, motions
  • Negotiate settlements for clients
  • Administrative and other management functions related to the practice of law
