We are an established real estate law firm with offices across California. We are looking for an Associate Attorney – Landlord/Tenant to join our fast-paced Business Real Estate Group in our San Diego or Concord office. This role will be responsible for drafting residential lease amendments and addenda, dealing with residential landlord tenant disputes, preparing residential lease reviews, consulting on various state and local landlord compliance topics and educating and answering questions for residential property owners and managers. This position is a non-litigation position. Compensation: $150k-$225k/annually DOE + Bonus Responsibilities: Provide legal representation to clients, assessing the facts and issues of each scenario and counseling clients appropriately Respond to client concerns to increase and retain business Participate in industry organizations and affiliated committees to increase the firm’s visibility in the community and within the industry Ability to develop executive level client confidence to retain current firm clients Ability to contribute to a positive and respectful working environment Represent the firm internally and externally Other duties as needed to support the legal and management goals of the department Qualifications: We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications: J.D. and an active California Bar license 2+ years of experience as a licensed California attorney, specifically in the area of landlord/tenant law Demonstrated experience in residential real estate and unlawful detainer law Strong analytical, research, and writing skills Ability to communicate regularly with clients on a range of practice group topics Ability to multi-task and operate against inflexible deadlines both in a team environment and independently The following qualifications are preferred: Affordable Housing experience Experience with the California Tenant Protection Act and/or rent control ordinances Experience with ProLaw or other billing and document management program Schedule: Position is full-time, exempt. Our business hours are 8:30am-5:30pm Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-5:00pm Friday. We currently offer an in-office/hybrid/remote work model for select positions within the Firm. New hire employees who are offered a hybrid schedule will complete the majority of their onboarding and training in-office as deemed necessary for the position by the firm before transitioning to a hybrid/remote schedule, subject to approval by their supervisor.
