About the position

The Associate Attorney will work on both litigation and non-litigation matters for a diverse clientele, ranging from small businesses to large corporations. The role involves handling various aspects of employment defense litigation, including pre-complaint investigations, case analysis, and strategic planning, as well as drafting motions and appearing in court. The attorney will also manage administrative matters before agencies and provide legal counsel on employment law issues.

Responsibilities

• Work on litigation and non-litigation matters for clients.
• Handle employment defense litigation aspects including pre-complaint investigation and case analysis.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.
• Take and defend depositions, draft motions, and appear in court.
• Manage administrative matters before agencies like DLSE, NLRB, DFEH, and OSHA.
• Support union negotiations, arbitration, trials, and mediations.
• Provide counseling and advice on employment law matters.
• Conduct legal research and writing in various employment law areas.

Requirements

• 2-7 years of experience in California labor and employment law defense litigation.
• Juris Doctor degree, licensed and in good standing with the California Bar.
• Strong writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and be highly motivated.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with class actions and California litigation.
• Bilingual abilities.
