About The Position

McAnany, Van Cleave & Phillips, P.A. (MVP Law) is looking for an Associate Attorney to join our Kansas City, Kansas office to practice primarily in Tort defense and help us meet the needs of our growing practice. With a physical office space in Kansas City, and the technology and tools to maintain a remote practice, this position offers attorneys the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement. Requirements

  • Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Licensed and in good standing in Kansas
  • Understanding of current court-related procedures
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Collaborative and committed to working as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Manage a tort defense caseload with independence
  • Successfully try cases, conduct depositions and mediations
  • Effectively establish, build, and maintain relationships with all assigned clients
  • Participate in marketing and business development opportunities within the firm
  • Engage in a collaborative team atmosphere
  • Utilize available technology to manage clients effectively and efficiently within a paperless work environment
