About The Position

Tessmer Law Firm is an award-winning Family Law firm in San Antonio. Led by Heather Tessmer, we provide strong, efficient, and collaborative representation in divorce, child custody, military divorce, estate planning, probate, guardianship, and civil litigation. We’re seeking a full-time Associate Attorney with a passion for Family Law. You’ll work closely with senior attorneys, handle active cases, and provide legal counsel while continuing to grow and develop professionally. Tessmer Law Firm, PLLC is owned and operated by Heather Clement Tessmer, attorney at law. She has over 20 years of experience practicing law. Heather graduated from St. Mary’s University Law School and began her career as an attorney in 1999. In 2001, she relocated with her family to San Angelo, Texas, where she opened her own office. In 2005, Heather moved back to the San Antonio area, opening her first office in Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas. Since 2005, Tessmer Law Firm has continuously grown and is now headquartered at the Northwest Center building in San Antonio, Texas. Heather wanted to create a law firm that made every client feel like family. She has put an end to the stereotypical view of a lawyer and law firm. By adopting an inclusive, diverse, female-led, compassionate, and strong environment, Heather changed the lives of her employees, peers, and clients. Requirements

Active Texas law license
Strong communication, interviewing, research, and writing skills
Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment
Excellent time management and organizational abilities
Professional, motivated, team oriented, and compassionate
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and document management systems

Responsibilities

Prepare legal documents: contracts, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlements, and orders
Conduct legal research and attend hearings and other proceedings
Advise clients, analyze conflicts, and negotiate resolutions
Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and staff for efficient case handling
Maintain well-organized client files and case information
