This strategy is designed to drive growth for both stores and online sales. The planner is responsible for executing a buy plan that aligns with the merchandise strategy by category and channel splits, optimizing product investment, and ensuring alignment with financial plans. Additionally, the associate assortment planner leads the analysis of information to enhance buying decisions and incorporates customer choice recommendations from the Category Planner. Communication with suppliers is also a key responsibility, where the planner discusses performance, expected results, and necessary adjustments to the business, while leading negotiations on profitability expectations. Furthermore, the role involves directing inventory management in-season, which includes making effective decisions regarding analysis, markdowns, replenishment, and reorders.
