Associate - Asset-Based Finance
About The Position
Our client is a well-established, business-focused AmLaw-ranked law firm with a strong national and international presence. With decades of history and a reputation for excellence, the firm advises sophisticated clients across finance, M&A, commercial transactions, and complex legal matters. The New York office is home to a market-leading finance practice known for handling high-impact, complex transactions. This search is being conducted by a recruiting agency on behalf of our client. Work on a wide range of asset-based and commercial finance transactions, representing lenders, borrowers, and other financial institutions Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents related to secured lending and structured finance matters Collaborate closely with senior attorneys and partners on substantive deal work Manage key aspects of transactions and interact directly with clients as your experience grows Support transactions from initial structuring through execution and closing This role offers meaningful responsibility early on and exposure to complex, high-value deals.
Requirements
- 2–6 years of transactional experience at a law firm
- Prior experience in asset-based finance, secured lending, or a closely related transactional practice
- Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active membership in the New York State Bar (or eligibility to waive in)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
