To learn more, visit www.sealedair.com. Position Summary Sealed Air is seeking a motivated professional to support the development of new packaging solutions for the food industry. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of packaging materials, equipment, industry-standard testing methods, and customer operations. Knowledge of food or meat science and how packaging or environmental factors affect product quality is essential. Experience in medical device or liquid pharmaceutical packaging is a plus. This role involves creating and executing test plans, performing fitness-for-use evaluations, and communicating results and recommendations to internal teams and customers. In addition to developing new solutions, the position supports the business through training, troubleshooting, and performance analysis. Collaboration with equipment, materials, sales, customer service, and supply chain teams is key to ensuring Sealed Air's solutions meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

Requirements

Bachelors or Masters of Science Degree in meat science, food science, or packaging discipline
Flexible travel domestically and internationally, estimated 30%
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience creating data-driven reports to communicate technical ideas
Ability to effectively present concepts and ideas
Experience managing multiple tasks, often with competing deadlines

Responsibilities

Evaluate new material and system designs through rigorous testing that simulate real world stresses, while working within a team environment
Understand the impact of packaging on shelf life of various food products (including proteins). Utilize that knowledge to qualify new packaging solutions and communicate any critical changes.
Knowledge of food processing methods including retort, aseptic, hot fill, etc.
Provide technical solutions to customers, external vendors, field representatives, and the broader R&D organization through on-site support to our customers and Sealed Air sites.
Collect and share feedback from internal and external customers to influence decisions that drive profitable change within new and existing product offerings.
Develop, design, and conduct test plans and field trials that validate robust solutions to our customers.
Conduct root-cause analysis that enables recommendations for data driven business decisions.
Nurture customer relationships by utilizing soft skills, sales skills, and influencing techniques to drive collaboration that speeds up the implementation and growth of SEE's solutions.
Influence supply chain improvements to manufacturing processes and raw materials by quantifying the impact of these changes on the performance of the materials.
Gather front-end intelligence on our customers' needs to drive the next innovations for Sealed Air.
Partner with a variety of cross-functional teams within R&D to develop and transfer technologies regionally and globally.
Work effectively within a matrix managed organization.
