About The Position

This position will support innovative business solutions by creating basic new applications and modifying basic existing applications and providing post production support. S/he will support the delivery of business application software solutions following the system development life cycle process. This role is part of Lincoln's Emerging Technologist Program (ETP), a two-year early career development initiative designed to accelerate the growth of future-ready IT professionals.

Requirements

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering.
  • 0 - 1+ Years experience in application development that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Supports and promotes change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Performs and delivers on routine assignments/projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Analyzes, designs, codes, debugs, integrates and tests basic software application solutions for systems.
  • Analyzes basic systems specifications of existing programs to determine requirements.
  • Documents programs and procedures.
  • Provides basic input to appropriate project team members/internal stakeholders regarding project plans, test plans and implementation plans.
  • Creates basic technical specifications from business requirements/business specifications.
  • Prepares and/or generates basic test data.
  • Tests program changes thoroughly to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and IT to support and understand requirements and expectations to achieve quality technical solutions.
  • Participates in the requirements, design and coding walkthroughs to ensure the development of quality solutions.
  • Investigates and resolves basic problems including providing support for production systems in a timely manner.
  • Proactively identifies basic problems and presents/develops solutions.
  • Communicates effectively with internal stakeholders and management.
  • Ensures that basic system improvements are successfully implemented.
  • Supports, applies and adheres to LFG standards and processes, including change management and project management methodology.
  • Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines. Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.
  • Remains current in profession and industry trends.
  • Makes a positive contribution as demonstrated by: - Making suggestions for improvement - Learning new skills, procedures and processes.
  • Performs other duties as required.
