Role Summary Please note that we do not offer visa sponsorship for this position. Reinsurance plays an important role in supporting National Life Group’s growth. The ideal candidate will have a combination of analytical skills and a strong production mindset. This position is responsible for the administration of proportionally reinsured policies for all lines of business in accordance with the reinsurance agreements between National Life Group and the respective reinsurance companies. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining and reconciling reinsurance records, files, and dashboards. This position requires attention to detail, ability to meet production deadlines, and an understanding of the financial impact of reinsurance.

Requirements

  • Insurance Industry experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or business-related field
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to handle deadlines and changing priorities is a must
  • A team player also able to perform independently
  • Possess a partnership mindset and demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships across an organization.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and reconcile periodic reinsurance settlement statements (e.g., premiums, claims, allowances, reserves, and balances due).
  • Validate data received from internal systems and external reinsurers, generate reports and identify opportunities for standardization and automation, complete reconciliations, validate data and adjust as needed
  • Maintain detailed documentation supporting settlements, assumptions, and adjustments
  • Review new and existing reinsurance agreements, implement and or update
  • Interact with reinsurers and support relationship management
  • Support ad-hoc requests, including, audit, and regulatory
  • Key areas of collaboration include Financial Reporting, Risk Management, Legal, Internal Audit, Pricing, Product Management, IT, Operations, Investments, and other areas as appropriate.
