Job Overview: The Alternative Investment Operations team is comprised of recon, transfers (incoming, outgoing and internal), conversions and dividends/corporate actions. We are seeking a candidate who has previous experience and operational knowledge, specifically in Alternatives. The ideal candidate will need to aide in the design, implementation and ongoing support of various projects. Have an understanding of data analysis, project management, and reporting tools and technology in general to effectively analyze business requirements, track project status, and translate business/regulatory needs into technical requirements. The candidate will also need strong interpersonal, organization and communication skills (written and verbal) to be effective in the role. Responsibilities: Manage daily processing and service-oriented tasks. Reconcile and analyze reports. Responsible for daily quality control, managing error rates, exception review processing and daily reporting. Analytical skills to reconcile suspense accounts and validate transactions to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and procedures. Effectively and confidently communicate with other internal departments as well as parties external 3rd including, but not limited to; contra brokers, transfer agents, issuers, vendors and partners. Research and process service requests that are created by service teams. Support and contribute toward the successful execution of projects and initiatives that support LPL’s priorities. Participate in UAT. Leverage technology to automate manual work and simplify processes where feasible to create a highly scalable, flexible, and efficient infrastructure. Contribute feedback for risk-based mitigation approaches that may yield changes to functions, and departmental requirements. Understand and Interpret rule modifications in an ever-changing regulatory environment, and understand the business needs of LPL, our advisors, and other departments. Developing quality service standards and processes to create a consistent service experience. Handle escalations by both the Service Center and Advisors. Other assignments as required by Management. Requirements

  • 2+ years of industry experience (preferably alternative investments) in operations
  • Personable and reliable self-starter who requires minimal management oversight for day-to-day work responsibilities.
  • Ability to work with and communicate effectively to various levels of management throughout the organization.
  • A positive and curious attitude with a willingness to take on difficult and complex situations and see them through to resolution.
  • Strong attention to detail with a pro-active approach to solving and preventing problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities with conflicting deadlines and urgency.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Alternative investments experience
  • Street side operations: settlements, transfers, Purchases and Sales experience
  • Microsoft applications, particularly Outlook, Excel, (VBA), Word, and Access
  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably in business, accounting, or finance
  • SIE or Series 7 preferred
