About The Position

The Associate in Alternatives Investment Management at BlackRock will be responsible for conducting financial modeling, due diligence, execution, and monitoring of existing portfolio companies. The role involves developing, utilizing, and analyzing financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, working with the team to assess and execute new investments, conducting market research, and assisting in the monitoring of portfolio companies. This includes analyzing corporate development, financing opportunities, and preparing businesses for exit.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business, Political Science, or a related field.
• 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
• Experience in investment banking, principal private equity or infrastructure investing.
• Knowledge and experience in energy and infrastructure.
• Proficiency with LBO, NPV, and DCF modeling to evaluate investment opportunities and monitor/optimize existing investments.
• Experience in monitoring portfolio companies including analysis of corporate development, add-on, and financing opportunities.
• Proficient in Excel for analyzing budgets and interacting with key management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial modeling, due diligence, execution, and monitoring of existing portfolio companies.
• Develop, utilize, and analyze financial models to evaluate investment opportunities.
• Work with the team to assess and execute new investments: conduct due diligence, financial review, and prepare presentation materials for investment committee.
• Perform market research, including research on potential investments, industries, competitors.
• Assist in the monitoring of portfolio companies including analysis of corporate development, add-on, financing opportunities, analyzing budgets, interacting with key members of management, and positioning business to be prepared for exit.
