About The Position

Associate - Adjudicator This role will be responsible for adjudicating Criminal Background Screens and performing individualized assessments on complex cases to make a determination on employment eligibility in accordance with procedures, applicable laws, and regulations. The ability to exercise superior judgment is a plus for this role, as is the ability to multi-task, prioritize and effectively problem solve. The performer will be able to research and interpret appropriate legal statutes to aid in the decisioning process. This role will also handle escalated/sensitive inquiries while working in an agile environment. A successful candidate would offer and implement process improvements to drive efficiency, compliance adherence and enhance the candidate and associate experiences. General Responsibilities: Execution of applicable HR processes & programs Adjudicate background screenings based on criminal, education, and work history Access/update multiple databases/trackers Support compliance changes, updates and initiatives Contact candidates to resolve discrepancies as needed Work with vendor to address minor candidate background issues Ideal Candidate: Strong attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to follow written policy, use critical thinking/problem solving skills to adjudicate complex cases Possess cognitive flexibility, time management skills, and task initiation Ability to navigate complex and sensitive subject matter in a poised and professional manner Possess a high level of integrity

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 1 year of experience in an HR role with a focus on process management, risk mitigation, or compliance
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow written policy, use critical thinking/problem solving skills to adjudicate complex cases
  • Possess cognitive flexibility, time management skills, and task initiation
  • Ability to navigate complex and sensitive subject matter in a poised and professional manner
  • Possess a high level of integrity

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ year of process management or project management experience
  • 2+ years of risk management experience
  • 1+ years security, law enforcement, legal experience or paralegal experience with either an in-house legal department or a law firm
  • 2+ year of experience in Human Resources
  • 1 year of experience adjudicating background investigation results or pre-employment screenings against established guidelines
