About The Position

As an Associate Actuary , you will be a member of the Actuarial Modernization team, and primarily supports Corebridge’s annuity business. The models developed by Actuarial Modernization team on PathWise platform will be used to produce GAAP and economic projections which will directly support valuation, capital management, asset liability management, and forecasting. You will have frequent and regular interactions with the valuation model owners, business line CFA team, actuarial control team, model production team and IT team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or other quantitative field
  • 3+ years of actuarial work experience, predominantly in actuarial modeling
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to cope with stress and fast-pace changes

Nice To Haves

  • ASA or FSA preferred, but not required. Will also consider Market Risk Management candidates.
  • Modeling experience with PathWise platform preferred, but not required
  • Python programming experience preferred
  • Experience with annuity products preferred, but if not annuities must have life insurance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the business needs to convert old block into PathWise platform
  • Analyze model requirements
  • Implement PathWise model
  • Revise PathWise model to perform waterfall attribution against legacy platforms
  • Support BAU modeling activities such as assumption updates, methodology improvements, regulatory required changes, and financial planning/forecast etc.
  • Support new annuity product model implementation and onboarding
  • Support company strategic projects, such as reinsurance and capital optimization
  • Perform unit testing on development work and peer-review as assigned.
  • Document all implantation steps
  • Ensure model control is implemented during model development process
  • Provide model owners with any required ad hoc analysis
  • Support QA function by testing and remediating model discrepancies
  • Work with IT to resolve data issues or process issues
  • Automate model run process and improve model run efficiency
  • Support model transition to production team by providing effective documentation and communication
