About The Position

AmTrust Financial is seeking a credentialed actuary (ACAS or FCAS) to lead our commercial pricing initiatives and contribute to actuarial research and development projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in primary and/or reinsurance pricing and will support our Workers’ Compensation product line. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics or a related field preferred.
  • ACAS or FCAS designation required.
  • 5+ years of property‑casualty commercial insurance experience, including primary insurance pricing, reinsurance experience, or consulting.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Access, SQL, and R.
  • Broad business knowledge, including basic accounting, finance, and insurance principles.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting small commercial products, especially rate filings, is highly preferred.
  • Worker’s Compensation experience preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with data science and modeling teams on pricing models or new product development is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Produce rate need analyses and support regulatory filings.
  • Lead data collection initiatives and communicate analytical results to underwriting leadership and senior management.
  • Maintain communication across teams, such as IT, Compliance, Claims, and Underwriting.
  • Ensure timely delivery of analyses and responses to requests from internal partners.
  • Conduct actuarial research related to pricing, planning, and line of business performance.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on pricing methodologies and rate development.
