About The Position

The Actuarial Development Program (ADP) at Lincoln Financial Group is an industry-leading program that demonstrates Lincoln Financial’ s commitment to creating highly qualified business leaders. As an ADP participant, you’ll be able to explore your unique interests while developing the essential actuarial, technical, management, communication, and leadership skills you need to succeed. The Actuarial Development Program includes a series of rotations, typically every 18-24 months. For each rotation, roles are available in different business areas including Life and Annuities, Retirement and Group Protection. Experience gained will enable participants to become well-rounded actuaries with knowledge that may include Product Development, Pricing, Valuation, Modeling, Risk Management, Asset Liability Management, Investments, Data Analytics, and Internal Audit. ADP participants are expected to pass the Society of Actuaries’ exams at a prescribed pace. The program is designed to support you as you work towards your FSA and provide the training and resources necessary to become a well-rounded actuarial leader. You will also provide support to various actuarial modernization and automation projects.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of actuarial experience
  • Demonstrated accountability
  • Strong execution and time management skills
  • Driven and motivated to produce high quality work and meet reporting deadlines
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • ASA designation with the commitment to continued progress toward obtaining the FSA designation within the expectations of the Actuarial Development Program

Nice To Haves

  • AXIS modeling experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Produce statutory reserves and capital results under VM-21 for financial reporting and Lincoln’s variable annuity hedging program.
  • Develop modeling software expertise in GGY-AXIS for variable annuities and RILA products.
  • Build on existing automation efforts within Dataiku, Tableau and Appian to increase efficiency, reduce the potential for error and improve presentation of results.
  • Collaborate with the Capital Management and FP&A teams to build new tools and processes to gain further insights into VA capital.
  • Work cross-functionally with other teams, including Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Market Risk Management (MRM), Model Development, Pricing, Audit, ERM, Investments, Capital Management, and the Qualified Actuary team.
