About The Position

Associate Account Specialist, Energy Efficiency (Field-Based) Utility Programs and Services Location: Baltimore, MD (Field-Based with some Remote Work) Are you ready to make a difference? ICF is seeking a field-based Associate Account Specialist to take a significant role in the implementation of commercial energy efficiency programs in Baltimore, Maryland. The selected candidate will be responsible for recruiting participants from Environmental Justice (EJ) communities into our utility incentive programs. The candidate will develop and implement engagement strategies with the goal of increasing the number of energy efficiency projects and participants within identified communities. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in (Business Admin, Energy, Communication or related field) (candidates can substitute one year of experience for each year of education)
  • 1+ years of experience in community engagement, with a preferred focus on working with individuals and groups from under-resourced communities
  • Proven fluency in English
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, an operational vehicle for transportation (or regular access to a vehicle), and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing or selling energy efficiency opportunities, including HVAC and/or commercial lighting, with specific experience with any of the following stakeholders: HVAC contractors, distributors, commercial real estate, federal government or retail customers.
  • Bilingual, in either Spanish or Chinese (reading, writing, and speaking)
  • Demonstrated event management skills to coordinate and implement community events and initiatives
  • Strong commitment to social and environmental justice
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High degree of self-confidence, determination, and motivated to excel
  • Ability to adapt, prioritize multiple time-sensitive needs, multitask, and work under strict deadlines

  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Dynamics, Word, Outlook, Excel)

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with businesses in EJ communities to support their participation in BGE’s energy efficiency programs
  • Cultivating new relationships and partnerships with service providers and local organizations who support EJ communities to promote program awareness and adoption
  • Identifying barriers to participation and developing successful, community-relevant resolutions
  • Preparing and presenting targeted presentations that promote program awareness,
  • Collaborating with community-based organizations on the preparation and delivery of energy-related community events that promote energy education, program awareness, and community support
  • Utilizing project management and communications Best Practices to support customers and service providers throughout their energy efficiency journey
  • Assisting program managers with the development and implementation of promotional strategies
  • Preparing client-facing status reports that document performance and activities related to program goals, contractor/consultant participation, and pipeline management
  • Supporting internal operations with tasks such as reporting, application review, forecasting, marketing development, and client support
  • Must have a reliable vehicle for local travel. Requirements are between 50% to 75% of the time (reimbursement for mileage provided)
