About The Position

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions. The Access Administrator is responsible for administering and enforcing enterprise-wide physical access control policies to safeguard personnel, facilities, classified information, and proprietary assets. This role ensures strict compliance with applicable federal regulations, contractual security requirements, and internal corporate governance standards. The Access Administrator serves as a key operational resource supporting secure facility access, credential lifecycle management, and access control system integrity.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in physical security, access control administration, or credentialing operations within a regulated or large enterprise environment.
  • Experience with enterprise-level Physical Access Control Systems (e.g., Lenel, AMAG, CCure, or equivalent).
  • Working knowledge of government security compliance standards (e.g., NISPOM, DoD Manual 5205.07, or equivalent frameworks).
  • Proficiency in database management and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records in high-volume operational environments.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting classified or controlled-access facilities.
  • Familiarity with ITAR/EAR compliance requirements.
  • Experience conducting internal security audits or inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor access control policies and standard operating procedures in alignment with government regulations (e.g., DoD, DHS, ITAR/EAR where applicable) and corporate security requirements.
  • Interpret contractual and regulatory access requirements and translate them into enforceable site-level procedures.
  • Conduct periodic audits of access control processes, badge issuance records, and credential inventories to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Support internal and external security inspections and assessments.
  • Produce, issue, replace, suspend, and revoke identification credentials for employees, contractors, and authorized visitors.
  • Validate identity and eligibility documentation using approved databases and verification systems.
  • Encode, configure, and activate physical access devices including proximity cards, smart cards, and PIN credentials.
  • Maintain strict chain-of-custody and inventory control for badge stock, access devices, and related equipment.
  • Administer and monitor physical access control systems (PACS), including user provisioning, access level assignment, and system deactivation.
  • Assess and analyze access requirements for facilities, controlled areas, lobbies, gates, and restricted environments.
  • Troubleshoot access device malfunctions and coordinate with IT, facilities, or security integrators for system resolution.
  • Generate access reports and analytics to identify anomalies, unauthorized attempts, or policy violations.
  • Manage visitor access processes including pre-registration, identity verification, escort coordination, and temporary badge issuance.
  • Maintain accurate logs of visitor activity and access history in accordance with record retention policies.
  • Provide site orientation and security briefings to employees and visitors as required.
  • Coordinate secure receipt and safeguarding of deliveries, including express mail and courier services.
  • Maintain and update corporate electronic directory, credentialing databases, badge management systems, and access logs with high data integrity standards.
  • Ensure confidentiality and protection of personally identifiable information (PII).
  • Conduct periodic reconciliation of access permissions to ensure alignment with employment status and job role.
