About The Position

This role will support the continued growth of Symetra Investment Management's (SIM) investment portfolio with a primary focus on the evaluation and analysis of ABS investments. Core responsibilities will include assisting in the analysis and underwriting of new investment opportunities, conducting ongoing surveillance and performance monitoring, and producing portfolio analysis and risk analytics for SIM's ABS holdings. This is a hybrid work role based in Farmington Connecticut.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of relevant experience in structured finance, credit analysis, fixed income or asset-backed securities.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of structured finance documentation.
• Attention to detail.
• Familiarity with ABS sectors such as consumer receivables, digital infrastructure, or transportation assets.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in ABS surveillance, underwriting, or investment analysis strongly preferred.
• MBA/CFA designation (or progress towards CFA designation) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the analysis and underwriting of new investment opportunities.

• Execute research initiatives and strategic projects analyzing ABS market dynamics.
