About The Position

The Associate Security Specialist at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) plays a crucial role in ensuring the protection and control of personnel through the implementation of various security programs. This position involves individual contributions to the security program, focusing on access authorization, clearance processing, and compliance with security policies. The specialist will also be responsible for developing security plans, conducting assessments, and coordinating with protective forces to maintain site security interests.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Q Clearance required for the position.
• Knowledge of PERSEC processes and DOE orders.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Applications.

Responsibilities

• Implement Access Authorization and Visitor Control processes.
• Process clearance applications and manage the Human Reliability Program.
• Develop safeguards and security plans, including memorandums of understanding and corrective action plans.
• Conduct safeguard and security assessments to ensure compliance with DOE Orders and company policies.
• Coordinate with protective forces for security operations and exercises.
• Act as a point of contact for work requests and site clearances, ensuring compliance with security aspects.
