About The Position

Join our team at Children's Minnesota as an Associate Medical Director Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) and collaborate with our Neonatology Leadership Team to provide exceptional care for high-risk newborns. As a leader of our NNP Team, you will play a crucial role in managing the medical needs of critically ill infants, utilizing your expertise and evaluative tools to ensure the best outcomes. In collaboration with the Medical Director, the associate medical director will promote and be jointly accountable for all domains of quality - safety, effectiveness, efficiency, operational and financial, timeliness, patient-centeredness, and equity. Our neonatal services program offers comprehensive care through our Levels IV, III, II, and step-down care units, with a combined bed capacity of 171 across our Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses. This program is a collaborative effort between Allina's fetal and maternal services and Children's neonatal and pediatric care. We are the fourth-largest neonatal program in the U.S. Our team of 20+ neonatologists, 60+ neonatal nurse practitioners and 500+ nurses and support staff provide care for more than 1,900 neonatal visits per year. Board-certified neonatologist on-site 24/7. Requirements

  • Current Minnesota RN license
  • Current Minnesota Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license
  • 2-5 years of proven NNP leadership experience in a Level 3/4 NICU setting.
  • Clinical expertise in a specialty, including advanced expertise in evidence-based assessments, risk behaviors and treatments of illnesses, comprehensive assessment, differential diagnosis, and interventions to treat or prevent illness or disease within last 5 years
  • Leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability in medical administration
  • Demonstrated excellence pediatric care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational and management skills
  • Good problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in basic clinical specialization preferred
  • Experience in research and leadership roles preferred
