About The Position

Provide leadership and support in the LA&C Control team processes to facilitate financial reporting. This position is responsible for the complete, accurate and timely accounting and reporting for the PH LA&C Market and will maintain a deep understanding of detailed Control processes and propose opportunities for optimization. This position reports to the Controller with close interaction with the Finance, Development and Legal teams. The candidate will also support and interact with other functions within the LA&C team (Marketing, Operations, R D and HR) and will partner with Yum Reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting (CPA License preferred)
  • 6+ years of accounting and finance experience
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft products (i.e. Excel Pivot tables, vLookup formulas, etc.)
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and apply the Yum Accounting Policies.
  • Able to effectively meet deadlines, multi-task in a fast paced and changing environment, be extremely organized, flexible, and willing to assume responsibility for special projects as they arise.
  • Proven analytical, financial reporting and strategic thinker skills with a high degree of attention to details
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and demonstrated success in working on cross functional teams with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with JD Edwards & HFM preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete monthly accounting close process for the PH brand including ASC 606 - Revenue Recognition in the analysis and amortization of deferred liabilities and incentive assets, and the billing/recording of franchise services expenses and franchise services revenue.
  • Fixed Assets accounting [including ASC 842 - Lease Standard as applicable]
  • Overall review of P&L detail and trends to question and/or reclassify entries as needed
  • Timely review and submission of KPIs; e.g. Summary of Results to Division Control
  • Timely and accurate completion of Roll-forward schedules to Division Control
  • Preparation of monthly reporting package to PH Planning team and CFO, including cost center reporting
  • Invoice franchisees for other support services provided and recognize the corresponding expense accurately, ensuring judicious billing while providing diligent follow-up support.
  • Partner with Legal, Development and Yum Control to understand the nuances of each new development agreement with franchisees to ensure proper tracking and accounting in accordance with YUM policies.
  • Manage the quarterly reporting process for the PH brand including preparing and analyzing various P&L schedules in HFM and related to the MD&A reporting package pages used by Yum! External Reporting to discuss financial results.
  • Prepare and analyze various balance sheet schedules in HFM and related to the Controllers Deck for key balance sheet captions, including analyzing and documenting large fluctuations vs. prior year-end.
  • Responsible for quarterly and/or annual accrual process with cost center owners in accordance with the various YUM Policies.
  • Lead the quarterly Development Agreement review calls with the Directors of Development, Operations and Planning to ensure alignment on status and accounting of the various agreements.
  • Monthly preparation and review of a significant number of balance sheet account reconciliations, making sure reconciling items are documented and cleared timely.
  • Facilitate and lead the monthly PH Brazil local entity books, including providing data as needed to external tax partners and Yum Tax, submitting invoices to support ongoing tax cases, and performing reconciliations.
  • Support PH SOX Controls and Continuous Audit.
  • Other duties as assigned, including the support of Planning with Franchise Health.
