The Compression Systems Engineering Module Center is responsible for design, development and production & field support of all Pratt and Whitney compressor products at every stage of the product life cycle. As an Associate Director, responsibilities include strategic planning and overseeing the management of technical program tasks and milestones, manpower planning, and employee development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 12+ years of relevant engineering experience OR Advanced Degree with 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Experience in fatigue, crack growth and structural dynamics analysis of static and rotating engine components.
  • Experience with problem and conflict resolution and relentless focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Technical and people-leadership skills with supervisory experience in Engineering.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Be a member and/or chair of reviewer quorum for product/ design reviews and associated action items as Associate Director of Structures as well as serve as the 2nd Level Supervisor and lead the Structures Group in the production, sustainment, and redesign development/certification.
  • Provide mentorship, primarily to the 1st level supervisors, on being able to function in a supervisory capacity, teaching & guiding leadership, management and problem & conflict resolution.
  • Ability to communicate with internal customers such as the Program Chief Engineer, and with external customers. Also, act as the Principal Investigator in matters related to customer escapes and field issues, drive issue resolution and help implement mistake proofing.
  • Be responsible for strategic management of Structures Discipline Health to ready the next generation workforce.
  • Participate in proposal work, including review and negotiation of requirements prior manpower planning.
  • Review and update technical standards, procedures, techniques, etc. to ensure that approach and methods proposed by the discipline teams reflect best practices.
  • Drive a culture of mutual respect, trust and empowerment in the organization as well as promote and drive bureaucracy reduction in all activities.
