The Teaching Assistant for Assistive Technology Services provides in-person support to students with disabilities in K-12 educational settings across BOCES component districts. This position plays a key role in bridging the connection between students and their Assistive Technology Specialists, who provide services virtually (e.g., via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.). The Teaching Assistant acts as the on-site support for students during these remote sessions, ensuring technology is set up properly, the student is engaged, and strategies are carried over into the classroom. The role focuses on implementing assistive technology solutions that help students access curriculum, build independence, and participate fully in classroom learning. The Teaching Assistant works under the guidance of Assistive Technology Specialists and collaborates with educators and service providers to support IEP goals and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.
