About The Position

This position provides one-on-one assessment and training on the use of multiple assistive technology software programs and use of a computer and operations, the Internet, and sending and receiving e-mail in home (Independent Living Services) in the school setting or on the job site (Vocational Rehabilitation Services). This position also serves as a technology training resource for DSB Staff and consumers in the areas of vision specific, high-tech assistive technology. This position provides assessment and training to blind or visually impaired persons served by the Charlotte District Office. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: -Serves as a technology training resource for DSB Staff and consumers in the areas of vision specific, high-tech assistive technology -Provides assessment and training to blind or visually impaired persons served by the Charlotte District Office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a discipline relative to the program served from an appropriately accredited institution; or Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in an area related to program that provides experience in techniques of casework or counseling; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
