About The Position

Position will be located either the Charlotte or Morganton Assistive Technology Center. The primary purpose of this position is to provide management and supervision for the western NCATP centers, specifically in the Charlotte, Morganton, and Sylva locations. This role also involves delivering direct services to individuals with disabilities, their families, caregivers, and professionals throughout the western region of the state, particularly in the areas of augmentative communication and assistive technology. Additionally, the position includes oversight of all personal and community activities within the western region. The individual will assist the Rehabilitation Program Manager in developing and implementing processes and procedures, managing data elements, and ensuring that both federal and state objectives are met within the assistive technology program.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a discipline relative to the program from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of related experience; or Bachelor’s degree in a discipline relative to the program area from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to operate a computer and computer software, as well as create spreadsheets and power point presentations.
  • Ability to enter data into developed data collection system.
  • Lifting up to 40 lbs occasionally.
  • Routine travel across the central portion of the state and occasionally across the state as needed.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including individuals, programs, and agencies, communicating effectively orally and in writing with people with disabilities, families, staff, and other professionals.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, develop and implement effective planning strategies, and provide technical assistance across a variety of settings.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to different environments while maintaining a high level of professionalism and service quality.
  • Previous management and supervision experience is preferred.
