About The Position

Presbyterian Homes & Services (PHS) is seeking a Part-Time Medication Aide for Prairie Gate, a senior living community in Council Bluffs, Iowa. This role offers an opportunity to work with a team dedicated to enriching the lives of older adults, focusing on understanding their needs and building a vibrant community. Prairie Gate is one of PHS's newest communities, featuring updated prairie-style architecture, inviting interior spaces for social gatherings, outdoor walking paths, and a 21,000 square foot Town Center. The Town Center provides various amenities and services including community gathering spaces, restaurant-style dining, a bistro, salon, library, club room, business office, guest suite, chapel, and a wellness center with an aerobics studio. The community offers Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Long Term Care options. PHS is a faith-based nonprofit organization committed to its Christian Ministry values, striving to create a safe and welcoming environment for all.

Requirements

  • Must have an Iowa Medication Aide Certification.
  • Successful completion of a state approved training program and current certification in medication administration in state(s) in which he/she practices.
  • Demonstrated compatibility with PHS's mission and operating philosophies.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality care and services to RCF/assisted living residents consistent with regulations and established clinical best practices.
  • Administer medications.
  • Perform Resident Assistant responsibilities as assigned.
  • Perform ADL’s as scheduled and assist other Resident Assistants as needed while maintaining consistency with regulations and established best practices.
  • Monitor changes in Resident’s condition.
  • Transfer and assist residents with mobility using various methods (gait belt, mechanical lifts, etc.).
  • Ensure residents are cared for with dignity.
