About The Position

The Assisted Living Charge Nurse at Bethany Lutheran Home is responsible for overseeing the care and management of residents in the Assisted Living Facility (ALF). This role involves coordinating resident assessments, managing treatments and medications, and providing support to nursing staff. The Charge Nurse plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with nursing home regulations and fostering a collaborative environment among healthcare professionals.

Requirements

• Active LPN license in South Dakota.
• Proven experience in a supervisory role in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Knowledge of nursing home regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary nurse for the Assisted Living Facility (ALF), managing resident assessments, noted orders, treatments, and medications (if no medication aide is available).
• Assist with arranging transportation for ALF and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) residents to appointments.
• Participate in daily huddle meetings to provide critical information for ALF.
• Support ALF nurses with managing orders, medications, and treatments.
• Collaborate with managers on audits and staff education initiatives.
• Assist with admissions and discharges on the ALF units.
• Assist ALF managers with annual care conferences, family/resident conflicts, and any day-to-day tasks that may need assistance.
• Provide additional support for nursing staff and operational efficiency across departments.
