About The Position

The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach/Instructor at the University of Dayton plays a crucial role in supporting the head coach in managing a successful Division I women's basketball program. The individual will also serve as the offensive coordinator and position coach for post players, while acting as a mental health liaison to support student-athletes' well-being.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Sports Administration/Sports Management, Kinesiology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in coaching and recruiting successful basketball programs at the NCAA Division I level.
• Commitment to leadership, sportsmanship, and academics.
• Demonstrated classroom teaching experience at the collegiate level.
• Experience as a previous Division I student-athlete.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with diverse backgrounds.
• Knowledge of NCAA and Atlantic 10 Conference regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head women's basketball coach in all facets of operating the women's basketball program.
• Instruct, train, and coach women student-athletes in collegiate basketball skills and game strategies.
• Teach at least one course per academic year.
• Recruit quality student-athletes for the program.
• Engage in team operations and perform additional coaching-related duties as assigned by the head coach.
• Serve as the offensive coordinator and position coach for post players.
• Act as the mental health liaison, collaborating with counselors and sports psychologists.
