About The Position
Bridgewater College, a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III, is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach, to begin immediately. This is a full-time position, reporting to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach. Bridgewater College was founded in 1880 as a coeducational liberal arts college to serve the local community. Located in the scenic Shenandoah Valley, just minutes outside of Harrisonburg and within driving distance of Charlottesville, Washington D.C., and Richmond, Bridgewater is home to a total student body of approximately 1,450 from 27 states and 19 countries. Bridgewater students study more than 60 majors and minors, in addition to four graduate programs and 10 pre-professional programs. Bridgewater College is an NCAA DIII school with approximately 40 percent of its students participating in intercollegiate athletics on 26 teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Prior collegiate coaching experience and/or competitive collegiate playing experience required
- Strong communication skills
- Basic competency in Microsoft Office applications is required
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the college’s auto insurance carrier

Responsibilities
- Assisting the head coach in all facets of a Division III women’s basketball program
- Assisting the head coach with budget management
- Recruiting prospective student-athletes who fit the mission and culture of the program and the College
- Assisting the head coach with game day preparation
- Organizing & conducting on-court coaching during practices and games
- Developing detailed scouting reports for game opponents
- Providing mentoring and support for the student-athletes, particularly in regards to academics and player development
- Ability to execute program related tasks as assigned by the head coach
- Complying with all NCAA, conference and college policies and regulations
