About The Position

The Assistant Warehouse Operations Manager at GEODIS Logistics LLC plays a crucial role in coordinating distribution and warehousing operations within a cross-dock environment. This position involves overseeing warehouse staff, ensuring efficient use of resources, and maintaining profitability while promoting improved services. The role also includes responsibilities related to food safety and participation in marketing and sales efforts to meet company objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and training.
  • PC proficiency to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates distribution and warehousing in a cross dock operation.
  • Confers with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services.
  • Develops plans for efficient use of materials, equipment, and employees.
  • Reviews costs and makes changes/recommendations to maintain and enhance profitable operation of divisions.
  • Participates in marketing and sales efforts, ensuring assigned facilities have the resources necessary to meet company goals and objectives, as well as P&L responsibilities.
  • Supervises several warehouse positions including Team Leaders and Operations Supervisor.
  • Responsible for reporting food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
