The Assistant Manager, Warehouse Operations at Hitachi Industrial Equipment & Solutions America, LLC is responsible for overseeing the general operations of the warehouse and its staff. This includes handling the recording and maintaining of inventory transactions, training new workers, and monitoring performance and productivity. The role also involves acting as a lead on the warehouse floor as needed.

  • Ensure warehouse is a safe working environment and complies with OSHA standards.
  • Oversee the integrity of the receiving, inventorying, and shipping of goods.
  • Assure quality of goods in storage.
  • Orchestrate the flow of inventory in, out, and within the warehouse including logistics scheduling optimization.
  • Supervise the receipt, dispatching, and storage of goods.
  • Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Partner with shared services in improving the warehouse management tools and systems.
  • Review and prepare workflow and action plans to ensure productivity, quality, and customer service standards are met.
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities.
  • Organize and maintain inventory storage area.
  • Ensure shipments’ and inventory transactions’ accuracy.
  • Support warehouse staff with on-floor activities on an as-needed basis.
  • Train and manage teams to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals.
  • Lead, motivate, and support team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment.
  • Implement development plans for direct reports and problem resolution.
  • Supervise activities of the facilities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service.
  • Interface with all levels of HIESA organization to answer questions or solve problems related to warehousing and shipping.
  • Identify areas of process improvement and support warehouse manager in improving procedures and practices.
  • Proven work experience as a Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Highly effective supervisory skills and techniques.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to input, retrieve, and analyze data.
  • Able to lift at least 50lbs.
  • Able to operate all warehouse handling equipment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management software packages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in shipping HAZMAT preferred.
  • Licensed forklift and order picker operator.
