About The Position

Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is looking for an Assistant Manager, Warehouse to support the Inbound operation in Florence, NJ. This role is for 1st shift (7:00AM - 3:30PM, but may adjust based on seasonality of business) POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for warehousing and distribution management in an HVAC Distribution Center (DC). It involves inbound, returns, damages, training of resources, and recruiting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. BS preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a distribution environment.
  • 5+ years managing a team.
  • Strong customer service orientation, distribution experience required.
  • Highly organized with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Forklift certification/License required
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and other employees of the organization without assistance.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • ERP/SAP experience required.
  • MS Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Responsibilities

  • Execute a flawless Distribution Center (DC) operation for Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC.
  • Accomplishes warehouse human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Meets warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of subordinates and provide constructive and positive feedback as earned.
  • Approve time sheets and time off schedules. Schedule associates according to the needs of the business to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Lead and drive continuous improvement in various activities of the warehouse, including safety, audit readiness, and efficiencies.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all direct report responsibilities and provide coverage support when needed.
  • Assist DC Manager in meeting warehouse financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
  • Effectively manage issues and evaluate continuous improvement opportunities with warehouse team, recommend, and implement departmental policies and procedures, processes and methods.
  • Moves inventory by scheduling materials to be moved to and from warehouse, coordinating inventory transfers with related departments.
  • Supervise warehouse associates, monitoring work, adherence to company policies/ standards, ensuring safe use of warehouse equipment, and engaging with EHS for safety audits and improvements.
  • Delivers supplies and equipment to departments by receiving and transferring items.
  • Maintains storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements.
  • Foster a strong Safety Culture by consistently enforcing safety policies, training team members, and holding them accountable. Actively support the Safety Committee, collaborate with warehouse leaders to address safety concerns, and work with the EHS Leader to identify and close gaps in safety practices.
  • Keeps equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; requiring preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Assist with inspecting outbound and/or Inbound loads to ensure current shipping standards are met as well as tracking any discrepancies.
  • Maintaining RF and portable printer stock levels and tracking/repairing damage equipment.
  • Working interdepartmentally to help identify and correct issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
