The Assistant Warehouse manager is responsible for coordinating and supervising all distribution center receiving, put away, picking, and shipping activities in a manner that is consistent with company service and cost objectives. You’ll deliver short and long term projects that support the business strategy. This will involve: Comprehensive understanding of shipping and warehouse management. Ensures that product is put away, picked, and checked according to established standards and procedures. Demonstrates strong computer skills. Demonstrates knowledge of DOT regulations and HazMat shipping practices. Participates in operations development and problem solving meetings as requested, to include IDEA submissions. Assists with training/certifying team members on material handling equipment, when applicable. Contributes to shift meetings with team members to discuss results of data analysis and corrective actions to be implemented. Complete stock alerts in a timely fashion, where applicable. Assists DC Manager to determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, expedite workflow, assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Assists DC Manager in the efficient training of all team member job duties, as needed.

  • 2+ Years of experience managing or supervising a team around 16 or more associates
  • LEAN or Continuous Improvement background
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Ability to efficiently operate A/S400 and MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of appropriate OSHA laws.
  • Knowledge of how to operate facility alarm system
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist.
