About The Position

Abilene High School is seeking an Assistant Volleyball Coach for the upcoming 2026–27 school year. The ideal candidate will support the head coach in building a competitive volleyball program that reflects our athletic and activity core values of commitment, effort, and teamwork. This role is ideal for someone passionate about student-athlete development and contributing to a positive team culture.

Responsibilities

• Support the head coach in planning and leading practices, matches, and offseason workouts
• Help develop players’ volleyball skills, fundamentals, strategies, and game awareness
• Model and reinforce our core values of commitment, effort, and teamwork
• Build strong relationships with student-athletes while promoting academic accountability
• Assist with communication to players, families, and school staff
• Help manage equipment, uniforms, and match-day logistics
• Collaborate with coaching staff to support a vertically aligned program from youth through high school
• Uphold all school, district, and KSHSAA policies and expectations
