About The Position

This position reports to the Head Volleyball Coach and Director of Athletics. Assist the Head Volleyball Coach with various aspects of the varsity volleyball program; i.e., coaching, recruiting, scheduling, camps/clinics, and game/practice management and fundraising. The assistant volleyball coach will adhere to RMAC rules, regulations, and NCAA Division II bylaws. In addition, the assistant volleyball coach will represent MSU Denver in a positive manner and continue to uphold the program’s philosophies and the athletic department’s core values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience coaching at the collegiate level.

Responsibilities

  • Operations & Logistics -Travel coordinator, equipment coordinator, community service coordinator, secure line judges for home matches, coordinate pre-match practice times, oversee match promotions and special events, liaison with marketing and communications, and other related duties.
  • Coaching -Assist head coach in coaching team -Assist with academic coaching -Meet regularly with student athletes and track their academic progress and advise.
  • Game/Practice preparation/management -Video coordinator -Scouting, training, match, Volleymetrics. -Statistics coordinator -Collect and distribute statistics to coaching staff and athletes as necessary. -On court training assistant.
  • Recruiting -Assist with recruiting -Maintaining database, in person recruiting, organize on campus visits.
  • Fundraising and public relations -Run RMR tournaments -Gym set-up, tournament director, financial handling) and other fundraisers.
  • Supervision of student-athletes
