About The Position

As the Assistant Vitamin/HBA Manager, you have a role in helping customers make healthy choices by providing excellent customer service through managing and leading one of the busiest teams in our store. You will assist in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit, responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Vitamin/HBA team. You will effectively coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork. Your role includes ensuring that customers receive the best possible service and assistance with vitamins, supplements, and health and beauty products to help them better understand and respond to their health and wellness issues. You will maintain an in-depth knowledge of vitamins, supplements, and other health and body items in the department, providing guidance on supplements, health and beauty, and related products without 'prescribing'. Additionally, you will assist in recruiting, hiring, developing, mentoring, and motivating the Vitamin team, unload and sort through store deliveries, and ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age and a minimum of 1 year of vitamin, homeopathy, or holistic experience with leadership duties; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Be dependable and reliable having the ability to work flexible schedule that changes; including night, weekends, and holidays.
  • Have and show an outgoing and friendly behavior; a positive attitude and have the ability to interact with customers.
  • Have good communication skills; and the ability to give and take direction while maintaining a team environment.
  • Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and dust.
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations.
  • Be willing to gain education on new products and alternative health.
  • Have strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • Be able to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the entire work day and the ability to lift, stack and maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Have the ability to move a ladder to access product requiring a force up to 5 lbs.
  • Able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 lbs. requiring a force up to 35 lbs.
  • Be able to walk a total of up to 3 miles in an 8 hour shift.

  • Assist in leading a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience for customers.
  • Ensure that customers receive the best possible service and assistance with vitamins, supplements, and health and beauty products.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of vitamins, supplements, and other health and body items in the department.
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, developing, mentoring, and motivating the Vitamin team.
  • Unload and sort through store deliveries.
  • Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations.
