About The Position

As the Assistant Vitamin/HBA Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market, you play a crucial role in helping customers make healthy choices by providing excellent customer service and managing one of the busiest teams in the store. This position involves assisting the Assistant Vitamin/HBA Manager in department management, merchandising for maximum productivity and profit, and overseeing ordering, inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Vitamin/HBA team. You will effectively coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork. The role also involves leading a team to deliver high-quality products, service, and customer experience, ensuring customers receive the best possible service and assistance with vitamins, supplements, and health and beauty products to help them better understand and respond to their health and wellness issues. You will maintain an in-depth knowledge of vitamins, supplements, and other health and body items in the department, providing guidance without “prescribing”. Additionally, you will assist in recruiting, hiring, developing, mentoring, and motivating the Vitamin team, unload and sort store deliveries, and ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • A minimum of 1 year of vitamin, homeopathy, or holistic experience with leadership duties; or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Be dependable and reliable
  • Ability to work flexible schedule that changes; including night, weekends, and holidays
  • Have and show an outgoing and friendly behavior; a positive attitude and have the ability to interact with our customers
  • Have good communication skills; and the ability to give and take direction while maintaining a team environment
  • Be willing to gain education on new products and alternative health
  • Have strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Be able to perform standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the entire work day
  • Ability to lift, stack and maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4” to 72”, for a distance up 2 feet without mechanical assistance
  • Ability to move a ladder to access product requiring a force up to 5 lbs., up to 2 hours, for a distance up to 25 feet
  • Able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 lbs. requiring a force up to 35 lbs., up to 2 hours, a distance up to 20 feet
  • Be able to walk a total up to 3 miles in an 8 hour shift

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Assistant Vitamin/HBA Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
  • Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Vitamin/HBA team
  • Effectively coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork
  • Assist in leading a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience your customers will receive
  • Ensure that customers receive the best possible service and assistance with vitamins, supplements, and health and beauty products to help them better understand and respond to their health and wellness issues
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of vitamins, supplements, and other health and body items in the department, providing guidance on supplements, health and beauty, and related products without “prescribing”
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, developing, mentoring, and motivating the Vitamin team
  • Unload and sort through store deliveries
  • Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other Vitamin team members are also aware of, and following, these procedures
  • Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and dust
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
