About The Position

As an Assistant Vitamin/HBA Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will play a crucial role in helping customers make healthy choices by providing excellent customer service and managing one of the busiest teams in the store. This position involves assisting in the management and merchandising of the department for maximum productivity and profit. You will be responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Vitamin/HBA team. The role requires effectively coordinating production, merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork. You will assist in leading a team to deliver high-quality products, exceptional service, and a great customer experience. A key responsibility is ensuring customers receive the best possible service and assistance with vitamins, supplements, and health and beauty products to help them better understand and respond to their health and wellness issues. You must maintain an in-depth knowledge of department products, providing guidance without "prescribing." Additionally, you will assist in recruiting, hiring, developing, mentoring, and motivating the Vitamin team, unload and sort store deliveries, and ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and regulations.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • A minimum of 1 year of vitamin, homeopathy, or holistic experience with leadership duties; or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Be dependable and reliable having the ability to work flexible schedule that changes; including night, weekends, and holidays
  • Have and show an outgoing and friendly behavior; a positive attitude and have the ability to interact with our customers
  • Have good communication skills; and the ability to give and take direction while maintaining a team environment
  • Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and dust
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • Be willing to gain education on new products and alternative health
  • Have strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Be able to perform the following: standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the entire work day
  • Ability to lift, stack and maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4” to 72”, for a distance up 2 feet without mechanical assistance
  • Ability to move a ladder to access product requiring a force up to 5 lbs., up to 2 hours, for a distance up to 25 feet
  • Able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 lbs. requiring a force up to 35 lbs., up to 2 hours, a distance up to 20 feet
  • Be able to walk a total up to 3 miles in an 8 hour shift
  • Be able to perform other related duties as assigned

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Assistant Vitamin/HBA Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
  • Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Vitamin/HBA team
  • Effectively coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork
  • Assist in leading a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience your customers will receive
  • Ensure that customers receive the best possible service and assistance with vitamins, supplements, and health and beauty products to help them better understand and respond to their health and wellness issues
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of vitamins, supplements, and other health and body items in the department, providing guidance on supplements, health and beauty, and related products without “prescribing”
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, developing, mentoring, and motivating the Vitamin team
  • Unload and sort through store deliveries
  • Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other Vitamin team members are also aware of, and following, these procedures
