About The Position

GovCIO is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Assistant Video Editor to join our team on a part-time basis . The Assistant Video Editor will be responsible for editing and producing a range of multimedia content, including in-person interview videos, virtual podcasts and occasional animations in different formats . This role will directly support the production for a media publication that features a range of interviews with federal technology leaders and industry executives . The ideal candidate will have a strong creative eye with a technical skillset to bring that vision to life. Th e role demands a deep understanding of video editing and the ability to collaborate effectively with the production lead and cross-functional teams to deliver quality content . The position involves juggling multiple video and audio edits with various stakeholders under tight deadlines. This position is located largely remotely , with occasional on-site days within the DC-Maryland-Virginia metro region. The role is part-time (20-hour weekly commitment with working hours between Tuesday and Thursday), and available to candidates within the Continental United States (CONUS). Travel outside of the DMV metro region is not .

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Production, Digital Media, Film, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in multimedia production, including formats beyond video editing such as animation, graphic design, and audio production.
  • Proficiency with multimedia production software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator) , Descript and other AI editing software.
  • Strong technical skills with color correcting video and modulating audio from raw recordings .
  • Excellent creative and storytelling abilities, with a keen eye for detail and visual aesthetics.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize edits to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to occasionally work non-traditional hours, including potential weekends and evenings when needed

Responsibilities

  • Produce and edit multimedia content, including video interview s, basic animations, and audio podcasts for various platforms (web, social media, conferences, presentations, etc.) in collaboration with the production lead.
  • Support the production of a media publication that includes interviews with federal leaders, for both in - person and virtual video and audio formats.
  • Collaborate with the production lead to develop creative concepts for existing products and strategies for improving production .
  • Ensure all multimedia content meets the company's brand standards and quality requirements.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and project schedules in collaboration with the production lead .
  • Provide technical support on virtual and occasional on-site recordings as needed.
