The AVP, Tax Reporting is responsible for overseeing the enterprise's tax reporting and compliance functions to ensure accurate, timely, and strategic tax disclosures. This role collaborates with internal stakeholders and external advisors to manage risk, ensure compliance with tax regulations, and support the company's financial integrity. The VP also plays a critical role in driving improvements in processes and controls across the tax function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of public accounting and/or in-house corporate tax department experience (or equivalent)
  • Experience in Insurance, financial services or healthcare sectors
  • Experience with accounting for income taxes
  • Experience with data visualization tools
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment, influencing strategy and achieving goals by working with people across the organization
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills, with an ability to address complex tax matters in ways that are meaningful and useful to non-tax professionals
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Proven process-improvement track record

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced law degree or Master's degree in Tax, Accounting, or related field preferred
  • Licensed CPA , MST or equivalent advanced/degree/certification

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and implementing direct and indirect tax planning opportunities
  • Creating, implementing and managing tax models and forecasts impacting cash, tax expense and tax asset assets/liabilities including potential effects from tax planning, business activity and/or M&A activity
  • Supporting M&A activity including due diligence, structuring and implementation
  • Being a functional contact supporting business leaders on tax and tax-related matters
  • Supporting various business initiatives
