About The Position

The Assistant Vice President, Product Owner for the Customer Data Platform (CDP) at Pennymac is the orchestrator of our marketing activation engine. You will lead an Agile team focused on unifying real-time behavioral signals with enterprise data. In this role, you’re building the "intelligence layer" that ensures we deliver the right message to the right person at the right time. You will sit at the center of Digital Marketing, Sales Operations, and Data Engineering, translating high-level personalization strategies into technical requirements for data ingestion and real-time audience segmentation. Requirements

  • 5+ years as a Product Owner: Proven track record in Agile environments, specifically managing Customer Data Platforms (CDP), Marketing Technology (MarTech), or high-scale data integration platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data ingestion patterns, API contracts, and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with SQL and data modeling to validate audience segments and troubleshoot data flows within cloud-based environments
  • Familiarity with how digital properties (Web/Mobile) capture intent signals via SDKs and Tag Management systems.
  • Ability to balance the "need for speed" from Marketing/Sales with the "need for precision" from Data Engineering and Compliance.
  • Exceptional ability to speak "Marketing" to stakeholders and "Schema" to engineers.

Nice To Haves

  • CSPO/PSPO certification is preferred.
  • Experience integrating CDP outputs with Salesforce Marketing or Sales Clouds for downstream activation.
  • Understanding of credit data enrichment and highly regulated marketing environments (FinTech/Banking).

Responsibilities

  • Own and prioritize the CDP backlog, focusing on high-impact initiatives like real-time event tracking, audience orchestration, and third-party data enrichment.
  • Define the strategy for ingesting real-time behavioral data (web/mobile clicks, logins) and merging it with core system-of-record data to create unified visitor profiles.
  • Architect "Moments" Marketing: Collaborate with Marketing partners to build the technical logic for triggered actions based on immediate customer intent and engagement signals.
  • Translate Strategy to Execution: Convert complex business requirements—such as campaign eligibility and credit-based enrichment—into actionable user stories with clear technical acceptance criteria.
  • Act as the definitive authority on prioritization during sprint planning and refinement, clearly articulating the business value of technical "under-the-hood" work.
