About The Position

The AVP, Inforce Reinsurance Actuary will report to the SVP, Inforce Reinsurance Actuary. The AVP, Inforce Reinsurance Actuary will execute and provide support for Inforce Management initiatives involving a wide range of Life, A&H, and Annuity products across all block reinsurance, flow reinsurance, and retrocession arrangements. This includes management of enterprise-wide experience analysis, Cost of Funds and key performance indicator development, and senior leadership reporting. This role is based in our Nashville, TN office on a hybrid basis.

Requirements

  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or equivalent designation, with 7+ years of progressively more responsible actuarial experience, or Career ASA with 6+ years of progressively more responsible actuarial experience post-ASA; strong candidates with commensurate experience will be considered.
  • Deep insurance product level knowledge required, with familiarity with reinsurance a plus.
  • Proficient programming skills, with expertise in Python and Power BI preferred.
  • Highly motivated, results- and goal-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects independently and with a high level of discipline.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated success working in cross-functional collaborative teams and in working with senior management.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with other programming languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development, analysis, and reporting of Cost of Funds across the Fortitude Re product portfolio.
  • Provide analysis and report on emerging experience across the Fortitude Re product portfolio.
  • Develop a wide-range of A/E liability experience dashboards covering enterprise-wide Fortitude Re product experience.
  • Prepare reporting for Board and other key stakeholders including committees and senior management.
  • Play a key role in managing counterparty relationships, governance, and initiatives including Client Cedant Audits.
  • Improve processes through use of data integration, analytics, and visualizations.
  • Execute on various ad hoc projects and key initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely across actuarial, finance, investment, and data teams.
