About The Position

The position involves collaborating closely with regional leadership to develop and execute an operations strategy aimed at ensuring best-in-class facilities across the regional portfolio. The role requires managing third-party engineering contracts, vendors, and contractors in coordination with the asset services team to maintain mission-critical operations and maintenance of laboratory buildings. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for developing and implementing five-year capital plans for highly technical facilities, maintaining standard operating procedures for assets, and managing competing priorities to meet targets and timelines. The role also includes overseeing technology support for buildings, ensuring accurate maintenance logs, recommending capital improvements for sustainability, and coordinating with tenants and contractors to minimize disruptions during projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, or related technical field.
  • Extensive knowledge of building systems, commissioning, and design.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of property management, building design, and real estate, with an interest in lab space.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with CADD, BMS systems, and maintenance work request systems.
  • Client service orientation and collaborative work style with cross-functional colleagues.
  • High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of thermal metering and utility sub-metering systems.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with tenants to ensure maintenance and repairs are handled efficiently.
  • Provide technical support for facilities maintenance and building systems.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot building mechanical and security systems with on-call responsibilities.
  • Assist in planning and implementing capital construction projects related to building support and maintenance.
  • Coordinate with tenants and contractors to minimize disruptions during projects.
