About The Position

The BMO Corporate Advisory team advises commercial banking clients and prospects on buy-side M&A and other corporate finance engagements. The team is comprised of former investment banking, private equity, management consulting, corporate development, and commercial banking professionals and is looking to hire a new Assistant Vice President. The AVP will be responsible for providing advanced financial modeling and deal execution support for buy-side M&A and other corporate finance advisory opportunities. The AVP will also develop customized analytics and presentations to support the execution of assignments within the commercial bank. This role involves designing and managing valuation models including DCF, LBO, comparable companies analysis, precedent transactions analysis, and merger models for live and contemplated M&A transactions. It also requires building free cash flow models for evaluating new credit opportunities and capital structure alternatives, and working with the team to recommend appropriate capital structure and market-based financing terms in corporate finance situations. Client support responsibilities include maintaining ongoing advisory relationships, updating existing financial models and presentation materials, building new presentation materials for engagements, and participating in presentations both internally and externally to clients and prospects.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in finance, economics, accounting or direct work experience in a related field
  • 3-6 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, commercial banking, or similar field
  • Knowledge of capital markets and investment banking products (including, but not limited to mergers & acquisitions, recapitalizations, capital structure, valuation techniques, and private equity markets)

Responsibilities
