About The Position

The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Ambulatory Operations at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital will play a pivotal role in overseeing the development, management, and strategic implementation of various programs that support the ambulatory footprint of the RWJUH campus and the RWJBH system mission. This position requires collaboration with operations leadership to ensure the delivery of safe and efficient care across ambulatory areas, including those associated with RWJBH and Rutgers Faculty Practices. The AVP will focus on enhancing employee engagement, improving patient experience, ensuring quality care, maintaining financial stewardship, and driving operational efficiencies. In this leadership role, the AVP will be responsible for planning and designing services that align with the RWJBH System’s overall mission and vision. This includes establishing standards of care, developing patient care programs, and implementing policies and procedures that prioritize best-in-class patient care. The AVP will also gather and assess information regarding patient satisfaction and work with the leadership team to develop and implement organizational strategies that achieve financial efficiencies. The AVP will participate in performance improvement activities, ensuring that the quality of care delivered to patients is continuously monitored and improved. This includes establishing compliance with federal and state regulations and accrediting organizations. Additionally, the AVP will coordinate all business operations, including financial activities, to effectively manage ambulatory areas on the RWJUH campus. This role will also involve engaging in strategic planning, developing methodologies to standardize workflows, and building collaborative relationships with regional and national leaders to identify and pursue potential business opportunities. As a key member of the leadership team, the AVP will attend meetings of the Joint Management Council and Operations Committee, working closely with executive and senior leadership in broader planning and development efforts. Building trust and credibility with clinical teams and assessing the ambulatory revenue cycle for improvement opportunities will also be essential functions of this role.
