About The Position

The Assistant Vice Chancellor for Finance and University Controller (AVC) is responsible for the long-range financial and operational planning to coincide with the strategic mission of the university, improving the operational efficiencies and effectiveness, ensuring compliance with auditing standards, policies, and procedures, and finding creative solutions to operational challenges. The AVC is responsible for NCAT's Comptroller's Office: Financial Reporting, General Accounting, Debt Management, Fixed Assets, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Investments, Endowments, Travel, Non-Student Billing; Student Accounts, Collections, and Cashiers; Financial Systems; Tax; Project Management; and Associated Entities Accounting Operations (Foundation and Investment Foundation).

Requirements

  • Masters degree or Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of financial management or auditing experience within a large, complex, service organization.
  • Direct experience in financial management, including budget management, reporting, financial modeling, and financial analysis.
  • Experience with policy implementation and research administration, including familiarity with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Experience managing staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
  • Demonstrated dynamic and innovative leadership, interpersonal, and superior communication skills.
  • Evidence of building collegian relationships and effective workgroups across divisional boundaries as a collaborator.
  • Familiarity with office productivity software and ability to prioritize, manage, and successfully complete multiple tasks.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting theories, principles, and systems design, and knowledge of governmental accounting and business operations.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex laws and regulations to accounting situations.
