Job SummaryThe Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach supports the Head Coach in developing a competitive, positive, and student-centered volleyball program. This role focuses on athlete skill development, team strategy, and fostering sportsmanship, leadership, and academic responsibility among student-athletes.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies
  • Previous volleyball playing or coaching experience preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, and school staff
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Commitment to student safety, inclusion, and development
  • Ability to comply with all school district, league, and state athletic association requirements

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting practices and training sessions
  • Help develop individual and team volleyball skills, including fundamentals, strategy, and conditioning
  • Support game preparation, in-game coaching, and post-game evaluation
  • Reinforce team rules, school policies, and athletic department expectations
  • Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect for opponents and officials
  • Assist with supervision of student-athletes during practices, games, and travel
  • Support communication with players, parents, and school staff as directed by the Head Coach
  • Help maintain equipment, uniforms, and practice facilities
  • Encourage academic success and positive character development of student-athletes
