About The Position

The Borough of Tenafly (Bergen County) is seeking a qualified and experienced full-time Assistant Treasurer reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The Borough has a population of 15.5 thousand and an operating Budget of $38 million and a pool utility.
Candidates must be proficient in Edmunds and Microsoft Office, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be organized, detail-oriented and a team player. Job title and salary will commensurate with educational background and experience.

Requirements

• DCA Certified Municipal Finance Officer Certification or near completion of attainment is preferred but not required.
• In lieu of Certification, 3+ years of municipal finance experience with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or a related field is required.
• Proficient in Edmunds and Microsoft Office
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
• Be organized
• Detail-oriented
• A team player

Responsibilities

• Preparation of bank reconciliations
• Fund transfers
• Month-end revenue reporting
• Recording appropriations
• Miscellaneous journal entries
• Tracking and processing non-check payments as approved by the CFO via wire transfer for the Board of Education, County and the Depository Trust
